Today I baked Aunt Cindy's Homestyle Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Mix. They were
super easy to make, which I appreciate since I am a busy mom!
I loved that all you have to do is cream a stick of butter, add in an egg
and vanilla, and dump in the contents of the mix. It worked perfectly, and
the mix came right together to form a good (not too wet or dry) consistency
of dough. I like the fact that I didn't have to drag out all of the usual
baking ingredients - I can make these in a cinch as an after school snack,
or after dinner dessert! The cookies tasted delicious - right out of the
oven, and also an hour later - moist yet crisp around the edges, sweet yet
not overly so (some mixes can be too sweet), and the perfect amount
of oatmeal and raisins. Thank you to Aunt Cindy's for not using any
preservatives, corn syrup, or artificial colors/flavors - this deserves
special mention since many other companies don't have any problem using these
"fillers." As a plus, both of my girls (ages 10 and 13) don't usually like
oatmeal but they consented to try Aunt Cindy's Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. Guess what? They both
gave the cookies rave reviews and helped themselves to seconds and thirds!
I would purchase Aunt Cindy's in a heartbeat :)
